Then joining a reenactment group could be right up your street!
Herigeas Hundas are a family friendly group who aim to portray the realities of living & working in the Anglo Saxon age!
We encourage family's to join as children and families were as much part of Anglo Saxon life as warriors were, if not more so! Parents and guardians will be expected to be responsible for the safety and welfare of any children who join with them, whether that is at training or in and out of camp at shows or events.
Dogs are also welcome to join, although it is worth noting that a couple of the shows we do each year are unfortunately not dog friendly.
We are always looking for more shields in the shield wall and more archers to batter the afore mentioned shieldwall!
Whilst kit for training can be provided by the group resources in the beginning, basic things like gloves will need to be purchased as soon as possible if members wish to take part in combat training.
We are also very welcoming of non combatants so if sitting by the fire crafting or tending a pot of stew, hammering away in the forge, shaping new furniture for camp, or other aspects of everyday historical life interest you then we'd love to have you!
We look forward to hearing from you!
